Job Description:

Position: Community Basketball Coach (Casual Hours) Location: North West London / West London, UK Organisation: Westminster Warriors Basketball Club

As a Community Basketball Coach with Westminster Warriors, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality coaching sessions to young athletes in the local community. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and leading engaging basketball sessions for players of varying skill levels and ages.
  • Fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes teamwork, skill development, and sportsmanship.
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of participants by implementing appropriate health and safety protocols.
  • Providing constructive feedback and encouragement to players to support their individual growth and development.
  • Collaborating with club staff and volunteers to organise and promote community basketball events and initiatives.

This role requires flexibility and locality to be present at coaching sessions in the North West London and West London areas.

Person Specification:

The ideal candidate for the Community Basketball Coach position will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Minimum Level 2 coaching award (or equivalent) in basketball.
  • Valid DBS certificate (Disclosure and Barring Service).
  • Health and safety qualifications relevant to sports coaching.
  • Child safeguarding qualifications or willingness to obtain them.
  • Passion for basketball and a desire to inspire and motivate young athletes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to be present at coaching sessions in the North West London and West London areas.
